A two year survey form February 2000 to January 2002 was conducted among patients who reported to the Out Patient Department of Dental College, Trivandrum, to find the incidence of Oral Cancer. Out of 90379 patients examined, 330 cases were clinically diagnosed and histopathologically confirmed as having Oral Cancer. There was a slight male predilection, with a female ratio of 1.7: 1. The peak age incidence in males was in the fifties while in female in the sixties. The habit and location sub site were analysed. It was noted that there was a direct relation between the type of habit and site of occurrence.

Human Oral cysticercosis is an usual presentation following parasitic infestation by Taenia Solit,im, in this report, we present a case of oral cysticercosis in a nine year old boy who reported to Ragas Dental College and Hospital, Chennai for treatment of a nodule in his left cheek.

Acute thrombocytopenic purpura is the most common of thrombocytopenias of the childhood. Clinical Features include petechial lesions on oral mucosa, gingival bleeding and occassionally hemorrhage into tissues. Serious complications like intracranial bleeding are also reported. Pigments are defined as substances occuring in living matter, which absorb visible light. They are substances, which possess colour of thier own in their natural state. Pigments differ in origin, chemical constitution and their biological significance. Variations in the normal oral pigmentation can occur due to genetic factors, hormonal imbalances and side effects of drugs. Several endogenous and exogenous factors, local & systemic may cause dermal and mucosal pigmentation alterations. This article reviews the literature of physiological oral pigmentation in different populations and the various causes of pathologic oral hyperpigmentation.

Chondroblastoma of bone is an uncommon, infrequently recognized chondroid neoplasm that occurs typically at the ends of the long bones. Occurence in Craniofacial area is rare. Here we report a case of Chondroblastoma in the maxilla.

Progressive systemic sclerosis is a disease that involves connective tissues and.blood vessels leading to fibrosis. The skin as well as internal organs are involved. A case of progressive systemic sclerosis is presented and review of literature concerning oral manifestations of this condition is presented.
