GREETINGS FROM THE EDITORIAL TEAM

“Success does not happen overnight; it happens with hard work and team support and the path to reach the present status was supported by the entire team of IAOMR.

My tenure commences as Editor-in-chief of this prestigious and esteemed national journal, JIAOMR. Along with this, comes tremendous responsibility and expectations. Over the years, the journal has undergone a series of metamorphosis to attain its current form and I am grateful to all the past Editorial team members for carrying on the legacy. I acknowledge my gratification to all the members of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology for having faith in my abilities and electing me to the post of the “Editor in chief”. With dedication and a sense of responsibility, the current editorial team has been formed in an attempt to make the journal achieve the envisioned goals. I with my conscience and with utmost dedication and expertise shall maintain the legacy and work for the betterment of the journal and strive to do the responsibilities bestowed upon with trust and goodwill. The entire team will work up to stupendous efforts in establishing an identity for Journal of Oral medicine and Radiology. I am sure with all our hard work, dedication and determination in improving the standards of our journal will make us reach up to the horizon one day.

As the Japanese proverb goes “Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.” The team, will continuously strive and do what is required in making the journal PubMed / Medline indexed. We envision the journal to be indexed as it has been a long-awaited process. This task seems daunting, but will only be possible with the enforcement and collaboration of the esteemed IAOMR members.

The past two years has put the entire world on an unexpected roller coaster, with the pandemic affecting everyone's life. Despite this, recent time has witnessed an acceleration of scientific and technological progress in Oral Medicine and Radiology. Even with the best of our abilities and sincere attempts, it is tough to be consistently competent in keeping pace with the recent advances. However, it is a mandatory and crucial phenomenon to focus on quality approaches for the betterment of our speciality. The vision to render academic excellence should be justifying, by exploring the specialty in multi-dimensions, although this means, that would we need to focus on genuine and quality research.

As rightly said “tiny drops of water make the mighty ocean”. We need to collectively work towards the betterment of our speciality, wherein we set high standards in teaching techniques and also train students to be well versed with newer investigating modalities. Today's students are tomorrow's future. This holds apt, not only for our speciality, but also for the nation. They are the trendsetters and they seed our legacy.

Further, the volume of manuscripts has increased immensely and the editorial board desires to publish quality manuscripts. I appeal to all the members, to send their finest quality research work to our journal, so that worthy articles get published and later also get cited. I also solicit everyone's views in uplifting the standards of our journal.

Let us all join hands together for working towards the progress and high standards of our esteemed speciality Journal.
